Self-tapping screws have a wide range of tip and thread patterns, and are available with almost any possible screw head design. Common features are the screw thread covering the whole length of the screw from tip to head and a pronounced thread hard enough for the intended substrate, often case-hardened.
Cup head self tapping screws are made of stainless steel with property SUS304 A2 which with good anti-corrosion performance.
Type 17 cutting point: A thread cutting screw for wood with a coarse tapping screw thread and a special long sharp point fluted to capture chips. Type 17 points can also be on Hi-Lo, deep root, deck screws and partical board screws, designed for the manufacturing of face frames on cabinetry. Smooth shank for a tight fit and a Type 17 point eliminates pre-drilling.
